This Cypress Falls football defensive end has stunned college scouts throughout his high school career with his fast and electric play. Becoming a four-star recruit in just his sophomore year, it’s clear, Kaden McCarty has captured the eyes of every college scout around the country.
McCarty’s journey began at Cypress Ridge High School, where he would first display flashes of athletic brilliance. Those flashes of raw potential quickly grew into consistent production, enough to put his name on the radar of recruiters far earlier than he ever expected.
What shocked McCarty most about his freshman year was receiving his first Division I offer at Texas Tech. The moment marked a turning point, signaling his future in football was promising. The offer not only validated his hard work, but would set the stage for his influx of recruiting attention.
“It’s difficult getting offered your freshman year, especially being undersized,” McCarty said.
However, it was his transfer to Cypress Falls that ignited his breakout. The move became the catalyst for his breakout campaign last year putting up numbers only few underclassmen in the state can match, 59 tackles, 24 TFL, 11 sacks, and two punt blocks in 12 games.
“I felt welcomed as soon as I was here, made a bunch of friends, a bunch of brothers really,” McCarty said.
Entering his junior year, McCarty hopes to solidify himself as the best Defensive Edge recruit in the nation. His eventual goal? To break the record for most sacks.
“I’m coming for the sack record this season, for sure,” McCarty said.
While McCarty is focused on dominating high school football, and eventually college football, he is not afraid to think ahead. He plans to eventually dominate at the professional level, setting his sights on long-term greatness rather than short-term accolades.
“I’m setting my mind past college football, and even past the NFL, I just want to be great,” McCarty said.
Christopher Brister, head football coach and Athletic Director of Cypress Falls, had positive words to say about McCarty.
“He is a leader, a great student, and a great football player,“ Brister said. “He has made a tremendous impact on our team and on our school.”
Already a four-star recruit, McCarty’s journey is still far from over. With aspirations of collegiate and professional football, all eyes are on Kaden McCarty. While he remains a cornerstone of Cypress Falls’ defense, his sights are set on something greater: leaving behind a legacy of excellence that extends beyond the field.
