Homecoming Week at the Falls

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Homecoming takes place the week of Sept. 12- Sept. 17 with dress up days throughout the week, a door decorating contest, food trucks during lunch, the football game and a dance.

“It’s really a time where you focus on school spirit with things like dress up days,” Principal Rebecca Denton said. “It’s all about the green and gold. It’s all about teaching people about what pride is.”

When the Homecoming games happen, it is a chance where people who have graduated can come and see what is new and can be welcomed back as an Eagle.

“It originally started as people come home. Come home, visit, have a weekend,” Teacher and Cheer coach Alicia Royer said.

For this year’s Homecoming event, there will be five dress up days: Monday- Decades Day, Tuesday- Tacky Tourist, Wednesday- Squad Day, Thursday- Rocker vs. Surfer, and Friday is Spirit Day.

Along with dress up days, classrooms will participate in a door decorating contest and pep rally on Wednesday, and a food truck Friday event that will include freddies, pizza, and others that can be purchased during all lunches.

Ending out the week will be the Homecoming football game, which will be held at Pridgeon Stadium at 7:00 p.m. with the Cy Falls Golden Eagles taking on the Cy Lakes Spartans.

“Kids come back from other year’s, so it is really a football game that Homecoming is really surrounded by to celebrate the football team and former students,” Assistant Principal Patricia Charron said.

The dance will be held on Saturday, September 17 at the Berry Center from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m with the theme “Midnight in Paris.” The tickets will be twenty-five dollars if paid in advance, but at the door will cost thirty dollars.
